Yesterday, I took the Anthony Gregorc Learning Styles Test and the Gardner Multiple Intelligences Test and learned many interesting thing about myself. First of all, from the Gardner Test I ranked up as a Lingistic and an Interpersonal learner. Although I did not think that these results were accurate, they quite possibly could be. My results indicated that I had a deep love for reading, organizing, leading, and writing (which is true) and also stated that I could not live without books, writings, disscussion, friends and social events (which is somewhat true). From this test, I learned that I think in words and by bouncing ideas off of other people (which I do not fully agree with).
I think that the results from the Anthony Gregorc Test were more accurate and true about me. This test concluded that I was a Concrete Sequential learner. This indicated that I was detailed, exact, organized, ordered, structured, and practical, all of which I agree with. It also said that Concrete Sequential learners liked to use checklists, data, lectures, summaries, outlines, and computers (which are some new things I learned about myself). In all, I would say that the results from both tests matched up pretty well, and I definately learned a lot about myself!
From the knowledge I took in from the 2 tests, it can help me tremendously in school. Now I know that studying from books will best help me to prepare for tests, so I now know not to waste my time studying other ways. I know also that studying/doing homework in groups is the right way for me. My results will definately affect how I study in school and also out of school from now on!
Many people in my life have traits that I truly admire. But, some people stick out in my mind as being my leader, mentor, and someone that I admire in a special way. First off, I admire the world famous ice skater, Sasha Cohen. I would think that she is a Bodily Kinesthetic learner, because she uses her body on a daily basis as part of her job. I would also think that Sasha is a concrete random learner due to the fact that she is independent and creative, 2 of the things that concrete random people are. Next, I admire Elizabeth Blackwell, the first female doctor for her determined attitude to become the first female doctor. She never gave up on her dreams, and that is such an admirable thing. I believe that she is a concrete sequential learner and a logical/mathematical learner because she was a very deep and logical thinker and was often talked about as being exact/accurate/detailed. Also she often found answer by reasoning, as a logical learner does. Finally, the most important person that I admire is my grandfather, Milton Golowski. He was definitely a logical learner as well as an abstract sequential. I put him into these learning categories because he was always reasoning, structured, debating, and ALWAYS thinking! He was was a great man(<3) and my learning styles reflect him a lot. He will always be missed and loved!
Well, that about sums up all I have to say. From these tests, I have learned a lot about myself, and will definitely be applying my new knowledge to my everyday life!
